About Crawley Consultants

Advantages for employer

Some advantages for the employer are listed below;

•    Employers play a vital role in deciding the standards for SVQs - so they really meet employer’s needs.
•    SVQs can help you improve productivity and competitiveness.  Many major companies use SVQs and find them valuable tools for business and employee development.  They report significant benefits in terms of improved employee performance and motivation, lower staff turnover, better staff/supervisor relations and improved staff recruitment.
•    Crawley Consultants can also supply one day professional training courses in IT on Microsoft packages, Sage payroll and Sage at stages 1, 2 and 3.

Advantages for the employee

It is important to note that the employee does not need any prior qualifications, standard grades or higher, to be eligible for funding for an SVQ. The main advantages for the employee are;

•    You are learning in the workplace and earning a salary at the same time.
•    You learn the way your employer expects you to communicate and behave in line with their policy and procedures.
•    The qualifications are portable to carry on throughout your career.  There are levels 4 and 5 which are equivalent to HNC/D level and above and would allow possible entry into a second year University course.
•    If you progress your career to management level your SVQ could mean you receive exemptions from certain parts of the management SVQ because of your previous qualifications.
•    SVQs are widely accepted by employers as proof that you can do a job confidently and well, that you are motivated, confident and ambitious, that you are ready to take on responsibility and that you are committed to your work.
